Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? In theory yes, however the reality of the matter is that once you’ve been to Las Vegas, you might not be able to stop yourself from telling anyone and everyone just what makes it so amazing.

Las Vegas is a theme park for grown-ups, a destination that thrives on extravagance and excess. Eat a steak here and it’ll be the best you ever had, catch a show in a Las Vegas theatre and it’s likely to be the world-class Cirque du Soleil or a concert by one of the world’s biggest performers. Sin City doesn’t do a thing by halves and that is exactly what makes the USA’s biggest playground our favourite place to party.

Daytimes in Las Vegas call for iced cocktails by the pool or hiring a car and heading out into the desert; dust in your wake and all-American highway stretching out in front of you. The Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon State Park are both within an hour of the Vegas Strip, whilst those with a few more hours to spare can tick the Grand Canyon off their bucket list.

Venetian lagoons and the dancing fountains of the Bellagio are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Las Vegas entertainment. Head to Freemont Street and you’ll get a taste of the Sin City of years gone by, way back when Hollywood’s Rat Pack serenaded the city’s gangsters and their molls. Adrenaline junkies can see the lights from 114ft feet above ground, ziplining over a neon promenade on which everything from dancing girls to giant pink flamingos make an appearance. Back on the Strip you can flirt with Lady Luck in casinos where night quickly turns to day and indulge in everything from five-star dining to baskets full of buffalo wings.

If you can dream it, you can do it on holiday in Las Vegas and if you’re looking for a good time, there’s no better place in the world.
